Amazon’s innovation marketplace launches in the UK

Amazon’s innovation marketplace launches in the UK Shoppers can now get access to some of the startup scene’s latest hardware, food and wellbeing products as Amazon’s curated Launchpad portal is now live outside of the US.  Although many current listings are from US companies (and some, like Pebble, aren’t particularly new) UK makers littleBits and smartphone manufacturer Wileyfox are among the first to start selling on the site.  An Amazon spokesperson said this is an opportunity for people to get to know the stories behind the products they buy as the site offers space for information about the founders who came up with the ideas.  Amazon Launchpad is mainly designed to support startups that are already part of the shopping giant’s growing partner network of VCs, accelerators, incubators and crowdfunding platforms.  This now includes products funded on UK crowdfunding sites like Crowdcube and Crowdfunder.co.uk.  The programme clearly gives Amazon a direct line into innovators as products are launched, although the companies do not have to list exclusively on the Launchpad.  Budding makers and existing Amazon suppliers can apply now to be listed on the portal, even if they aren’t working with one of Amazon’s partners, but their products must be ready for shipping within 90 days.

Paris attacks: Police search suspects' premises

Police probing Friday's attacks in Paris have been searching premises they believe were used by the attackers. A car rented by Salah Abdeslam, the suspected eighth gunman who is now the subject of an international manhunt, is also being inspected. He or his brother Brahim, named as another attacker, are thought to have rented a flat and two hotel rooms. The so-called Islamic State (IS) group says it carried out the multiple attacks in which 129 people died. Officials say that 117 of the victims have now been identified. A Belgian-registered black Renault Clio was found parked near Montmartre in northern Paris. After police sealed off the area and ensured there was no booby-trap, the vehicle was towed away for forensic examination. Investigators believe the car may have been used to bring the attackers to and from Belgium, from where French authorities say the attacks were organised. Images on French media of one of the hotel rooms being examined show syringes and tubes which could be bomb-making equipment. Follow the latest live updates Salah Abdeslam is believed to have fled across the border to his native Belgium. Belgian police have released more pictures of him. On Tuesday French media reported that a French jihadist, Fabien Clain, had been identified as the voice in a recording issued by Islamic State in which it said it had carried out the attacks. In an effort to prevent more attacks, France has mobilised 115,000 security personnel, according to Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve. Mr Cazeneuve said 128 more raids on suspected militants had been carried out. French warplanes also carried out fresh strikes against the IS stronghold of Raqqa in northern Syria, the army general staff reported, destroying a command centre and training centre. Russia's security chief said earlier on Tuesday he believed terrorists were behind the downing of a Russian jet in Egypt last month, killing all 224 people on board. IS has said it destroyed the plane. Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu said Russian planes had intensified their air campaign, hitting positions in the Syrian cities of Raqqa and Deir al-Zour. Meanwhile, Belgium's government has raised its terror threat level because of the failure so far to arrest Abdeslam. Tuesday's football match between the national team and Spain has been cancelled as a result.

Dancing with the Stars Has One Eventful Night: Did Alexa PenaVega Return? Who Survived the Semi-Finals

Way to almost give us a heart attack, DWTS! We had gotten to the very last moments of the show and we were having flashbacks to that time Nastia Liukin was eliminated last season just before the final three. How on earth were Nick Carter and Bindi Irwin tonight's bottom two and in danger of being eliminated? Sure, we all love Alek Skarlatos, but we also all know that his dancing is not even comparable. He's great, but if this is a dancing competition, he's probably not the one most deserving of that mirror ball trophy. Tonight's semi-finals were originally supposed to feature the final five, including Tamar Braxton, but her medical issues became too serious for her to continue in the competition. There was some speculation that maybe last week's eliminated contestant, Alexa PenaVega, would be brought back (especially after two perfect dances and the reveal of her struggle with an eating disorder), but that wasn't even a discussion tonight. Instead, it was revealed at the very last moment that there would simply be no elimination, and Nick and Bindi would survive another week. The closer we get to the finale, the better the dances should also get, so let's run through them, shall we? CLICK: Get the full list of scores from last week 8. Nick Carter and Sharna Burgess: 24/30 To be quite honest, it took us a few rewinds to actually see the mistakes that required Nick to get a mid-dance pep talk from Sharna, but once we saw it, we just felt sad. This could have been great, and instead it just struggled. 7. Alek Skarlatos and Lindsay Arnold: 30/30 Alek has improved so much that we barely recognize the guy, and this waltz was as smooth as his chest. 6. Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough: 27/30 (+3 for winning the dance-off) "It's raining happiness!" Those words from Bindi could describe every single dance she does, but her salsa this week was especially joyous (partially thanks to the hot pink costumes). Not particularly our favorite choreography ever, but it was still fun. 5. Alek, Lindsay, and Emma Slater: 27/30 Alek got to dance with his DWTS crush again! We were too distracted by that fact to pay attention to the dance, but it seemed fun. Unfortunately, he wasn't ready to spill to Julianne Hough or Erin Andrews as to how that worked out. 4. Nick, Sharna, and Peta Murgatroyd: 30/30 THAT is how you come back from a bad dance! This may have been the best night of trios ever, and this sort of "pop salsa" as one of the judges described it was sexy as hell. Nice to see Peta back on the dance floor, as well! CLICK: Get the details on Tamar Braxton's health problems 3. Carlos, Witney, and Karina Smirnoff: 29/30 We feel like we should have gotten an invite to this party. So much fun. Carlos really killed it all over the place tonight. 2. Carlos PenaVega and Witney Carson: 28 (+3 for winning the dance-off) Carrie Ann may not have gotten it, but like, what was there to get about a shirtless Carlos swinging from a rope to a One Direction song, other than a little hot and bothered? That was an inappropriate comment to make about whatever that rope was supposed to represent metaphorically, but we only feel a little bit bad about it. 1. Bindi, Derek, and Mark Ballas: 30/30 We want to live in this dance, even if it's totally weird with neck ropes and boxes but we don't even care. Amazing. All in all, kind of an amazing night of endless dancing, even if there was a bit of a sad undertone to the whole evening. We wish Tamar the best, and hope she's well enough to at least make an appearance in the finale.

William Moseley, Alexandra Park and Tom Austen Describe The Royals in 3 Words Find Out What They Are (Hint: ''Naughty''

                                                                                       BREAKING NEWS
The Royals cast is getting candid! In a lively sit-down with E! News, William Moseley, Alexandra Park and Tom Austen share some laughs as they answer some fun questions about their saucy show. When asked which Hollywood star they would want to play their on-screen father, William chose David Beckham, explaining, "He can teach me all his football skills." Logical. Julia Roberts Isn't Giving Up on Romantic Comedies: "I Love Them"

Julia Roberts' movie roles have run the gamut through the years, but she never forgot her roots. In a new interview with The New York Times, Roberts opens up about her new, award-buzzing movie, The Secret in Their Eyes, and how far she has come since her romantic comedy days. Having won the Oscar for Erin Brockovich, Roberts seems to have shied away from rom-coms but tells the publication now she would do more. "People say, oh she's against romantic comedies—I'm not. I love them," she clarifies. "I've been fortunate enough to be in some really good ones, so the bar for me is really high." With Runaway Bride, Pretty Woman and Notting Hill (just to name a few) in her repertoire, we don't blame her for wanting to go out on top in terms of making romantic comedies. But that's not why she hasn't been doing them."It's hard to find a true original idea of a romantic comedy for a 47-year-old person, that's going to be funny and realistic and relatable," she explains. "I'm totally open to it. I would love to read a good romantic comedy." Someone please send her a script ASAP! Even though Roberts has appeared in fewer movies over the years, choosing family life over Hollywood, she still has had a major effect on the way business is done. Roberts made her mark when she was the first female actress to be paid $20 million for a movie, so she knows a thing or two about the inequalities in the industry. Interestingly enough, however, she tells the NYT that talking about it almost makes it worse. PHOTOS: Stars' powerful quotes about feminism "I've done my best, sort of forging my path and standing up for myself. And whatever ripple effect might come from that, I couldn't really say for sure. It's so funny that this is still the topic," she says. "Any of those things that try to herald women at the same time almost perpetuate the problem, because you're saying, 'All hail the women directors.' Well, they're just directors. They're just fabulous directors. She continues, "For me, I'm a creative person, it's about the part and not losing the part but seeing how far you could push the business side of it. But I would never have risked the creative side of it for the business side of it."Julia Roberts is just one star who made us swoon with her relationships on screen. GoldenEye Came Out 20 Years Ago! Ranking the Best of Pierce Brosnan's James Bond Lines

Pierce Brosnan was the fifth James Bond overall but he made history in his own way, becoming the first 007 of the 1990s and therefore turning a whole new generation onto Ian Fleming's suave secret agent. GoldenEye, the first of the four Brosnan Bond films, came out 20 years ago today if you can believe it, and the fact that there's a Bond movie in theaters right this minute only hammers home just how unusually enduring (not to mention, hard to kill) the character remains. While Brosnan's Bond reported for duty in the relatively evolved year that was 1995, he was still very much of the old-timey, bed-the-babes, not-a-hair-out-of-place Bonds that came before. But his in-on-the-joke version combined the debonairness of Sean Connery with the hungry-for-adventure vibe that Roger Moore brought to the table; and for now anyway, Brosnan also marked the last of the still-having-fun Bonds, because no matter how deftly Daniel Craig's 007 handles every obstacle in his way, he always looks like he's going to work.

Jennifer Lawrence Had Liam Hemsworth Carry Her Purse on the Great Wall of China

today news shot

J.Law, Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson are in the midst of their press tour for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay—Part 2, which has been a bittersweet experience for them. After so many years of working together, the trio have grown close and are upset about the franchise coming to a close. Hemsworth appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Monday to discuss their work together and admitted they're going to miss spending so much time together. "We're just sad not to tour the world together," he confessed. "That's one of the funnest parts." In the past two weeks alone the cast has traveled to Madrid, London, Berlin, Paris and Beijing, where they did some sightseeing and walked the Great Wall of China. Show host Jimmy Kimmel then showed the audience a picture of the trio on the Great Wall and called Hemsworth out for his panda hat and his new accessory: a Valentino purse. The Last Song actor explained that it was freezing on the Wall so he and Hutcherson decided to buy the matching hats to stay warm (and be adorable), but the bag is an entirely different story. "Jen didn't want to carry her handbag anymore, which is so like Jen, so I carried her handbag," he explained, laughing. "I figured it added to the whole picture of the Great Wall." Although the cast has continued its press tour in the wake of the attacks on Paris, the stars decided not to do interviews as their way of paying tribute to those lost. The latest and last installment of The Hunger Games had its premiere Monday night in Los Angeles, where once again the cast didn't do press. They did, however, celebrate their latest accomplishment with quite the after-party. Taking place in a tent on top of a parking garage near the Microsoft Theater, the after-party featured men and women dressed as residents of the Capitol. Red and white roses—President Snow's favorite—were scattered throughout the soiree. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay—Part 2 will premiere in NYC Wednesday.

What It's Like to Move Gwen Stefani to Tears on The Voice

Surefire ways to wow The Voice coaches: Sing your heart out and take on a wildly popular song with a new spin. That's what Jordan Smith and Amy Vachal did on Monday night's show. Smith, who is considered the frontrunner in the competition, brought coach Gwen Stefani to tears with his rendition Selah's "Great is Thy Faithfulness." He opened with an acapella verse that he told us was "difficult, scary and very nerve racking, but in the moment it felt completely right." Smith, who is part of Adam Levine's team, said moving Stefani to tears is quite the accomplishment. "I just think that as artists, one of the greatest things we can do is move someone with our music, with our art. I would compare it to anyone doing their work, anyone wants to be good at what they do, and ultimately most people want to help people. Even though we're not doctors, or in the field, firefighters, policemen, I think we want to do what we can to help people," Smith told us. "The greatest thing we can know as artists is that someone was moved by what we did, and they enjoyed something that we did, but they were also touched by it, and also helped them in some ways. So, I'm really honored she was affected in that way, and that I could help her and anybody else that kind of needed that." Smith's teammate on Team Adam, Vachal, took on Drake's hit song "Hotline Bling" with a haunting rendition and roused the audience and coaches alike. However, it wasn't her choice to do the song; it was Levine's.

Floyd Mayweather Defends Ronda Rousey From Backlash After Surprising UFC Loss: "Everything Happens for a Reason"

From one former champion to another, Floyd Mayweather has a few supportive words for Ronda Rousey After suffering the first loss of her career during an Ultimate Fighting Championship match against Holly Holm on Nov. 15, the 28-year-old Olympic medalist faced immediate backlash from all angles and became the focus of Internet shame because of the shocking upset. When rapper 50 Cent posted an unflattering photoshopped Instagram picture of Rousey knocked out in the arms of iconic boxing character Rocky Balboa, he generated speculation that Mayweather also wanted to poke fun at Rousey's loss by claiming the athlete asked him to post it. "LMAO FLOYD TOLD ME TO POST THIS, he want me to do the dirty work," the rapper wrote of the photograph. However, Mayweather, who also faced off in a similar "fight of the century" this year, put an end to the gossip when he spoke out publicly Monday. "That's not true at all. I haven't really spoke to anyone about the Ronda Rousey situation, just to set the record straight," he told Fight Hype. "I don't have anything against MMA fighters. It's just like boxing; you win some, you lose some. A true champion can take a loss and bounce back." READ: Ronda Rousey throws a verbal jab at Floyd Mayweather

Latest, news,

Say hello to Mr. and Mrs. Rob Dyrdek! The Fantasy Factory star and his wife, Bryiana Noelle Flores, made their red carpet debut Sunday at the P.S. Arts Express Yourself fundraiser in Santa Monica, Calif., and certainly had that newlywed glow. Both dressed in black from head to toe, the couple looked picture perfect. Bryiana accessorized her dark ensemble with incredibly bright pieces of jewelry: her engagement ring and brand-new wedding band. The MTV star also showed off his new wedding ring as he kept his arm around his wife. Rob, 41, and Bryiana tied the knot in September in a gorgeous ceremony and reception, both of which were documented on social media. They each chose to share pictures from their special day before jetting off to Bora Bora for their honeymoon. When they arrived to the tropical paradise, Rob shared a scenic photo of two mimosas, their hands wrapped up in each other's and a backdrop of the gorgeous, clear blue ocean.

James Van Der Beek Rubs Wife Kimberly's Growing Baby Bump on the Red Carpet

mor news

Baby bump ahead! James Van Der Beek and wife Kimberly Van Der Beek hit the red carpet in Santa Monica, Calif. Sunday to debut their latest project together—their upcoming fourth child. The Dawson Creek alumnus and his glowing wife looked comfortable as they posed together in coordinating black and grey knits at the Express Yourself 2015 event. The expecting mom rocked a black spaghetti-strapped jumpsuit layered under an oversized sweater while her partner opted for an equally cozy grey sweater blazer. Most adorably, Van Der Beek took a moment to draw all eyes to his wife's growing bump when he took a few photos with his hand propped on her noticeably bigger belly. Inside the event, the CSI: Cyber actor shared an equally precious moment with his oldest daughter, Olivia, with whom he was photographed assisting as she was occupied working on a vibrant masterpiece at an arts and crafts table. Later in the day, the busy mom paused for a candid moment with her three tots, Annabel Leah, 21 months, Joshua, 3, and Olivia, 5 in a silly Instagram photo of the foursome making silly faces for the camera. "Christmas card or mood of the day?" the blogger captioned the shot.

Michelle Branch Files for Divorce From Husband Teddy Landau After 11 Years of Marriage

home news

UPDATE: According to divorce documents obtained by TMZ Monday, Michelle Branch and Teddy Landau have finalized their divorce after nine months. The singer-songwriter will keep her musical compositions, demos, master recordings and royalties, while Teddy will get a Mustang and 2015 GMC truck and some property. The exes will share custody of their 10-year-old daughter with a "week-on, week-off" schedule. There is no official child support plan in place, but they will split her education costs. The "Game of Love" sure can be a tough one sometimes. Michelle Branch filed for divorce from her longtime husband Teddy Landau earlier this month, E! News can confirm. In court documents obtained by E! News, the "All You Wanted" and "Are You Happy Now?" singer cites irreconcilable differences for the split. Without using a lawyer, the 31-year-old also requested joint custody of the couple's nine-year-old daughter Owen Isabelle. E! News has reached out to both parties for comment. PHOTOS: More shocking celebrity splits The divorce filing comes almost a year after Branch announced her separation. She first grew to admire her spouse when he was her bass player. They would end up performing together after she found big success with songs including "Goodbye to You," You Set Me Free" and "Breathe." They would ultimately marry in a romantic ceremony near Mexico back in May of 2004. Today, the singer appears to be moving on as a single lady after briefly dating Dead Sara bassist Chris Null. And if you wondered where Branch has been on the music scene, she's simply being a hands-on mom. In addition to raising her growing daughter, Branch identifies herself on Twitter as a "backyard chicken farmer, baker, wrecker [and] lover of the f word."

Sorry The Walking Dead Fans, But Norman Reedus Just Crushed Your Glenn Dreams

news home

One word ignited The Walking Dead fandom last night when a simple "help" was heard over the walkie talkie as Daryl (Norman Reedus), Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) and Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green) raced back to Alexandria after an ambush. Could it be? Is it Glenn (Steven Yeun) signaling he has really survived and AMC can stop pretending like the character is dead? Nope. "Not Glenn. The only thing I'll say is that it's not Glenn," Reedus told Yahoo TV. Welp. Reedus told The Hollywood Reporter it was somebody from Alexandria. Yeun's name has remained off the credits following his final appearance surrounded by walkers with guts all over him. But were they his guts? These are the questions. CLICK: Find out what else happened on The Walking Dead Here's what we know: producers and cast members have not said definitively that Glenn is dead. Showrunner Scott Gimple said the following after the last time we saw Glenn: "Dear fans of The Walking Dead. This is a hard story to tell, and when we were planning to tell it, we know our friends at The Walking Dead would be talking to you about it, and we knew we should say something about it, lest our silence say something we didn't mean to say or not say. So I'll say this: In some way, we will see Glenn, some version of Glenn, or parts of Glenn again, either in flashback, or in the current story, to help complete the story." Here's what else we know: Yeun has been spotted filming alongside characters yet to be introduced. Could AMC be bringing the actor to set knowing fans are always watching? Possibly, but that seems a little more elaborate. The show has already removed his name from the opening credits to continue the ruse. Did Glenn sneak under that dumpster? Quite possibly. Could Glenn's scent be masked by Nicholas' dead insides? Possibly.
